play
Good afternoon.
Good morning and good evening too, being as this is the internet and you are potentially anywhere on Earth and experiencing an alternative time to mine.
It would be odd if you weren't on Earth, but if you do happen to be reading this while on the ISS, then good day/night/day/night/day to you.
If you're anywhere else, please come and take over the planet. We're ready.
this post
I have titled this blog post 'play' as it's really just for me to see how the blog looks. I've made a couple of colour and font CSS tweaks to the standard Bear blog 'archie' theme.
I've tried to add a 'dark mode' alternative colouring, but every time I add the (I think) correct code, it breaks the CSS. In fairness, I have no idea what I'm doing really and have only 'learned' what to do by cutting and pasting from others, but I am mystified why adding the code breaks it.
In the meantime, this site is light mode only. Sorry.
What I am doing here is coming up with a quote that is worth quoting, just to format a quote with a quote.
Oh, I've tweaked pictures too. Should be centred.
Update: Clicking the picture now brings it up into a 'lightbox' view.

So this post is not going to make a whole lot of sense because really I'm just using it to test all the things.
By the way, do you like the link underline and main highlight blue colour? Would you like the highly technical explanation of why it is that colour?
Well, it's HTML code is #99cafe.
That's it.
I just liked the idea that, as well as a colour, it would also would be a good place to go if you like cups of tea and 99 ice creams.
fonts
I may tweak the fonts later. Don't know whether to stick with a serif/sans-serif mix, or perhaps have a bit of a play with some other alternatives.
Edit: I went with two serif fonts, as you can see.
Anyway, that's a post done and in the wild. Now lets wait and see how long it is before something else appears.
